Job summary

The Oregon Department of Transportation is seeking a Transportation Maintenance Specialist to join the Brothers, OR crew with on-site housing available. You will operate equipment to maintain roadways, perform repairs, and support snow and storm response, with potential after-hours on-call for emergencies.

Applicants must have a CDL-A with tanker endorsement or be able to obtain one within specified timeframes; safety and teamwork are emphasized across daily field duties.

Qualifications

• One year of experience performing basic highway maintenance work.
• OR two years of general landscaping, maintenance, mechanical, farming, logging, and/or construction experience or training.

Responsibilities

• Operate weather-related equipment such as snowplows and deicer trucks to clear roadways.
• Operate a variety of heavy and light equipment to maintain and repair surfaces.
• Perform minor surface repairs including pothole and concrete patching.
• Maintain and repair fences, guardrails, and milepost markers.
• Clear debris and manage roadside vegetation.
• Maintain drainage systems and repair culverts.
