The South Carolina Department of Transportation is seeking a maintenance worker to perform a variety of road maintenance tasks, operate equipment, and help with traffic control in work zones.

Responsibilities include paving and repair work on asphalt and concrete surfaces, drainage and signage tasks, and assisting in emergency weather operations. A CDL must be obtained within six months of placement.

Qualifications

• A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required.
• Requires attainment of a Class A CDL within six months of placement.

Responsabilités

• Operates equipment like dump trucks, concrete mixer, and paver tools to maintain roads.
• Assists with setting up maintenance work zones and directing traffic as a flagger.
• Performs asphalt and concrete repairs and uses hand or pneumatic-powered tools.
• Cleans up debris and assists with drainage repairs and sign installations.
• May work extended hours, including night or extreme weather conditions.
