Job summary

West Virginia Department of Transportation in Wayne County is seeking a Transportation Worker 2 Equipment Operator to join the highway maintenance team. You will operate skid steers, bucket trucks, loaders, and trucks, perform minor repairs, and help maintain culverts, bridges, and roadways.

The position may require irregular hours and more than 40 hours per week, with CDL Class A or B preferred; apprenticeship progression is available through the agency program.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License required.
• apprenticeship progression based on hours, proficiency and training.
• Ability to operate and maintain highway equipment and attachments.

Responsibilities

• Operate highway maintenance equipment and attachments.
• Perform major and minor repairs to highways, culverts, and bridges.
