Job summary

State-of-South-Carolina is seeking a Crew Leader to supervise a four-person ditching crew performing skilled manual labor, drainage maintenance, and storm drain cleaning. Duties include operating backhoe and Jet-Vac equipment, loading trucks, and setting up traffic control per SCMUTCD.

You will assist the foreman, assess daily work requests, train crew in safety, and maintain records of work performed. The role requires two years of related experience and a valid driver's license; a Class A CDL

Qualifications

• Two years of related work experience is required or an approved equivalent.
• A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required; Class A CDL must be obtained within six months of placement.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment (backhoe, Jet-Vac) and perform ditching/ drainage tasks.
• Assist foreman with daily work requests and safety practices.
• Maintain records of work performed and materials used; set up traffic control per SCMUTCD standards.
• Work on-call during emergencies and inclement weather; lift up to 50 lbs.
