Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Transportation is seeking a Crew Leader to operate a front-end loader and backhoe for drainage ditch cleaning and piping installation. You will also drive a tandem dump truck for hauling materials and operate a skid steer during cutter and milling tasks.

Two years of related experience or an approved equivalence are required, along with a valid operator’s license. You must obtain a Class A CDL within six months of placement and be prepared for outside work in all

Qualifications

• Two years of related work experience or an approved acceptable equivalence.
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license required.
• Must obtain a Class A CDL within six months of placement.
• Physical ability to bend, stoop, twist, climb and lift up to 50 lbs; work in varied outdoor conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate front-end loader and backhoe to clean drainage ditches and install sideline and cross line pipe.
• Operate tandem dump truck for hauling materials such as concrete pipes, asphalt, dirt, and other debris.
• Operate skid steer in cutter and milling operations as needed.
• Serve as Crew Foreman in foreman's absence during maintenance assignments.
• Provide on-call services during hazardous weather operations and emergencies.
