Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s PennDOT is seeking a CDL Operator in Lycoming County to operate highway maintenance equipment, perform manual labor, and support safe travel across the region.

You will drive trucks and loaders, maintain a valid CDL with required endorsements, carry out flagging duties, perform routine maintenance, and follow safety procedures. This full-time position includes standard hours, occasional overtime, and a starting salary of $45,888.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the Transportation Equipment Operator Trainee Program or equivalent training.
• CDL with required endorsements; active Medical Examiner's Certificate.
• Equivalent experience and training acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Operate trucks, loaders and equipment for highway maintenance.
• Maintain a valid CDL and perform daily equipment checks.
• Perform flagging to guide traffic safely when needed.
• Carry out manual labor such as debris removal and brush cutting.
• Conduct routine field maintenance and safety procedures.
