Qualifications

• Education/Experience: Equivalent combination of 1 year of education and experience after completion of high school.
• License/Certification: Valid Commercial Driver's License, Class A (CDL-A) with tank endorsement.
• Other Requirements: MVR must meet minimum standards.
• CDL medical card required unless already employed by the State.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
• Trainee option: CDL-B with path to CDL-A within 1 year.
• Preferred: Experience operating motorized highway equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operates and troubleshoots complex highway maintenance equipment and vehicles.
• Supervises and trains entry level personnel and small crews.
• Responds 24/7 to winter maintenance and traffic emergencies as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on equipment; ensure safe operations.
