Job summary

State of Oklahoma, Department of Transportation, is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator in Kay County. You will operate heavy machinery, perform routine maintenance, and assist with road maintenance and repair tasks on highway systems.

Responsibilities include traffic control, sign and guardrail work, and following safety protocols. A valid Oklahoma CDL is required, with possible class A/B endorsements, and willingness to travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of operation and servicing of highway-related heavy equipment.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and traffic control requirements.
  • Experience or training in equipment maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities

  • Operates trucks, tractors, road graders, dozers and other equipment as needed.
  • Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment and facilities.
  • Directs traffic using stop/slow signals or flags during maintenance.
  • Repairs and/or replaces signs, posts, and guardrails as required.
  • Complies with all safety regulations and agency policies.
