Job summary

Qualifications

• No formal education required for Level I; Level II requires 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate power equipment and heavy machinery for highway maintenance and repair.
• Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance on equipment and facilities.
• Repair roadway shoulders, signs, guardrails, and other structures as directed.
• Provide traffic control using STOP/SLOW signals or flags.
• Apply herbicide to highway rights-of-way when required.
• Remove debris and obstacles from roadways.
