Job summary

The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) seeks a Construction and Field Survey Technician for Basin, Wyoming. This entry-level role supports highway construction, surveys, inspections, and material testing to ensure quality and safety.

The position includes a $2,000 hiring bonus, benefits, paid leave, and flexible schedules. Training will be provided to perform duties under limited supervision and contribute to WYDOT’s mission of safe, reliable transportation for Wyoming communities.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 0–1 year of progressive experience in construction and field surveying.
• Alternatively, 2–4 years of related experience in surveying and construction.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction projects and ensure compliance with plans.
• Prepare, review, and file project records and reports.
• Perform topographic surveys and field measurements.
• Conduct material testing and QA/QC testing.
• Set up traffic control plans and ensure safety in live traffic.
• Assist in permitting, plans review, and design reviews.
• Provide office support and data entry for project records.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and oversee smaller project components.
