Job summary

Anoka County is seeking an Engineering Technician III to support highway construction and improvement projects. You will oversee field crews, inspect work, and ensure adherence to project specifications at the on-site Anoka County Highway building in Andover, MN.

The role involves conducting construction inspections, drafting highway plans, performing surveys, testing materials, and guiding field operations to ensure safety and quality. Interviews begin the week of 10/26/2026.

Qualifications

• Accreditation from a technical school or trades program and at least 4 years of related experience.
• Pass a driver’s license background check.

Responsibilities

• Conduct testing and inspections of grading, paving, curb, concrete, and materials for highway projects.
• Oversee field crews and contractors to meet standards and specs.
• Perform topographical construction surveying and staking.
• Record highway alignments, profiles, and material quantities.
• Provide leadership to junior staff as assigned.
