Job summary

County of Anoka is seeking an Engineering Technician IV to oversee multi-staff project activities, focusing on drafting construction plans, surveying, and coordinating roadway and bridge development to meet safety and performance standards. This full-time, on-site role involves directing tasks, managing timelines, and ensuring contract compliance.

The position requires accreditation from a technical school or trades program and at least 6 years of related experience, with strong surveying skills

Qualifications

• Accreditation from a technical school or trades program with at least 6 years of related experience.
• Equivalency of education and experience accepted on a year-for-year basis.
• Pre-employment driver’s license background check required.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert level support in testing and inspections of grading, paving, curb, concrete, and materials for highway projects.
• Coordinate project details and timelines with stakeholders (contract administrators, utility companies, surveyors, contractors, agencies, residents).
• Maintain records for construction projects including pay quantities and materials per state/federal guidelines.
• Serve as Project Manager in all phases of construction.
• Lead field crews and coordinate daily operations with contractors.
