Job summary

County of Anoka is seeking an Engineering Technician II to support highway projects and traffic‑engineering tasks at the Anoka County Transportation Division. The role involves permit processing, right‑of‑way coordination, inspections, and data analysis to ensure compliance with county standards.

Qualifications

• Requires accreditation from a technical school or trades program.
• Pass a driver’s license background check.

Responsibilities

• Review, process, issue, coordinate, and track permits within the county highway system.
• Inspect permitted work and maintain records to ensure standards.
• Conduct field reviews of traffic control plans and inspect construction and restoration work.
• Process right-of-way registrations and verify insurance and regulatory requirements before permits are issued.
• Prepare data collection and reporting to support traffic operations and safety assessments.
• Utilize GIS, CAD, and traffic engineering software to develop maps and exhibits.
• Provide leadership or mentoring as assigned.
