Job summary

PRIME AE Group, Inc. in Florida is seeking a Highway Engineer I to join our Transportation team. You will contribute to planning, analysis and design of roadway projects for public-sector clients in Jacksonville, Pensacola, Tampa or Orlando.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of highway/transportation engineering experience.
• Proficiency with ORD/OpenRoads Designer, InRoads, MicroStation, Civil 3D or similar.
• Familiarity with AASHTO, FDOT, MUTCD, and ADA standards.
• Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Team-oriented and collaborative across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of roadway, highway, bridge, and transportation improvement projects for state and local agency clients.
• Prepare geometric layouts, roadway alignments, MOT plans, ADA improvements, drainage considerations, and transportation safety enhancements.
• Develop construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, and supporting project documentation.
• Utilize ORD/OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, Civil 3D to develop design models and construction documents.
• Perform engineering calculations, technical analyses, and design evaluations.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, planners, and technical staff to deliver high-quality transportation solutions.
• Participate in field investigations, site visits, and data collection activities.
• Assist with agency coordination and support compliance with applicable design standards.
• Prepare technical memoranda, reports, and presentation materials as required.
• Support project schedules, quality control, and overall project delivery objectives.
