Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Traffic/Electrical and Highways Intern for Summer 2027 to join our Transportation Group in Bloomfield, NJ or Mt. Laurel, NJ offices. Local candidates preferred; no housing stipend provided.

The role offers hands-on project experience and exposure to current traffic engineering practices. Responsibilities include supporting roadway and transit projects, field investigations, traffic analysis, and learning design aspects under experienced mentors.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a B.S. in Civil Engineering.
• Previous internship experience preferred.
• MicroStation experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Task management and leadership skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team of engineers on roadway and transit projects.
• Perform field investigations, assisting in traffic analysis, design, and construction support tasks.
• Ability to learn planning and design aspects of projects.
• Prepare construction cost estimates and quantities.
• Design Traffic Signals and signal timings per agency standards.
• Prepare Traffic Signal plans.
