Job summary

Qualifications

• Full-time student pursuing an ABET-accredited undergraduate degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Interest in transportation projects and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers and project managers with basic highway design tasks, including research, simple studies, and layout support.
• Help prepare drawings and documents for schematic design, final design, and construction phases using OpenRoads Designer or MicroStation CAD software.
• Assist with preparing quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
• Assist with construction phase activities, including site visits, RFI responses, reviewing shop drawings, and updating record drawings.
• Follow established quality control procedures and ask questions as needed.
• Learn and apply department and company standards and best practices.
• Develop basic highway design, analysis, and technical skills through hands-on experience.
• Participate in team meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members.
• Receive guidance from supervisors and team leaders, and participate in weekly seminars and end-of-internship presentation.
