Job summary

RS&H is seeking a Highway Engineer to join our Infrastructure team in Colorado. This position offers a flexible hybrid schedule, combining in-office collaboration with remote work.

You’ll contribute to planning, design, and delivery of roadway projects for DOT, county, and municipal clients, working with a collaborative team from concept development through construction to help shape transportation infrastructure that connects communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (ABET).
• Colorado PE license preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of roadway/highway experience.
• Knowledge of transportation design standards and codes.
• Experience preparing construction documents and plans.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform roadway and highway design, engineering analysis, and plan production for transportation projects.
• Prepare project specifications, reports, cost estimates, technical studies, and construction documents.
• Analyze and interpret engineering data to develop practical, innovative design solutions.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
• Conduct quality control reviews and participate in field reviews and construction observations.
• Support project delivery by monitoring schedules, budgets, and task progress.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff and engineering support team members.
• Assist with client development, proposal efforts, and business development initiatives.
