RS&H is seeking a Highway Engineering Associate to join our growing Infrastructure team in Denver. The role supports planning, design, and delivery of roadway projects for state, county, and municipal clients, with a flexible hybrid work schedule.

The position involves design, analysis, and documentation from early design through construction, collaborating with transportation professionals to grow technical expertise and advance your engineering career.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of transportation or civil engineering experience.
• Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local transportation design standards.
• Experience with production software and construction documents.
• Strong problem-solving and a desire to continue learning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships with clients, contractors, team members, and other project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assist roadway and highway engineering design, analysis, and plan production.
• Develop technical studies, impact analysis, cost estimates, and design calculations.
• Prepare project reports, specifications, presentations, exhibits, and construction documents.
• Support data collection and analysis efforts for transportation projects.
• Create drawings, visual aids, and design deliverables using industry-standard software.
• Participate in field reviews and construction observations to gain practical experience.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to support successful project delivery.
• Perform research and technical investigations to support engineering solutions and project development.
