Qualifications

• Highway Construction Technician I: must be 18+ years old and have a valid driver’s license.
• Highway Construction Technician II: experience in surveying, materials testing, or field inspections; OR coursework/training in surveying, materials testing, or inspections; must be 18+ and have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Train to perform inspection duties on highway construction projects.
• Sample and test construction materials and document daily work.
• Learn to read and interpret construction and bridge plans.
• Obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Work varying hours outdoors on highway construction projects; nights, evenings, weekends.
