Job summary

State of Nebraska's Transportation - Agency 27 seeks an entry to journey-level Hwy Construction Technician to inspect highway projects, perform surveying, ROw staking, and materials testing. You will train under supervision and work outdoors with variable hours, including nights and weekends.

CDL training is provided, with promotion potential to Technician II on certification. Eligibility includes CDL within 90 days and a willingness to travel or be on-call for snow and highway emergencies.

Qualifications

• Experience or coursework in surveying, materials testing, or inspections.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
• Strong math and data interpretation skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect highway construction projects and assist with surveying and ROW staking.
• Perform materials sampling/testing and document daily contractor work.
• Learn to operate snow removal equipment and CDL requirements under supervision.
