Job summary

Knape & Vogt Manufacturing Company in Grand Rapids is seeking a Production Operator I to join our manufacturing team. This entry-level role focuses on loading and unloading parts, reading blueprints, and performing changeovers.

There is a first shift at 7:00am–3:00pm and a third shift 11:15pm–7:15am with a $2 shift premium. Overtime opportunities are available and benefits include medical/dental/vision and 401K with company match.

Qualifications

• No prior manufacturing experience required.
• Basic reading, writing, computer and math skills.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand basic English.
• Able to work in a high-paced environment.
• Able to lift up to 35 lbs. while standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload and hand parts into the machine.
• Troubleshoot by reading blueprints on a computer monitor.
• Conduct changeovers and setups.
• Perform all quality functions and checks.
• Follow all safety procedures and quality functions.
• Perform all shop order functions, packing instructions and labeling requirements.
• Inspect parts and machinery for errors.
