Job summary

Church's Chicken is seeking a Cook to prepare and cook food products per the Manager in Charge, following the Cooking Section of the Operating Standards Manual. The role requires timely, clean, and orderly execution in a fast-paced setting.

You will set up batter stations, monitor fryers, ensure proper holding times, and maintain cleanliness through clean-as-you-go practices. The position reports to the Manager in Charge of the Shift in a church-affiliated kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced kitchen and ability to follow OSM guidelines.
• Capable of standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and performing repetitive tasks.
• Commitment to food safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Sets up the batter table, collects all necessary smallwares, and prepares batter mix.
• Checks equipment and immediately reports any malfunctions to the Manager in Charge.
• Color balances fryers and maintains shortening levels.
• Filters and cleans fryers at designated times following safety guidelines.
• Pans sufficient chicken for operational needs.
• Prepares and cooks all food as dictated by business needs and Manager in Charge.
• Ensures all food meets specifications and holding times as per SOM.
• Maintains a clean work area using clean-as-you-go practices and ensures batter area supplies are stocked.
• Maintains organization and cleanliness of the cooler.
