Job summary

Ellis Island Casino, Hotel & Brewery is looking for a new Bartender! We have over 800 hard-working employees across our locations and offer medical, dental, and vision benefits for full-time staff along with a 401(k) and PTO.

The Bartender greets customers, takes orders, mixes drinks according to recipes, handles payments, and maintains a clean bar while delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Must meet state minimum age for serving alcoholic beverages.
• Must obtain a gaming or non-gaming card, food handler safety training card, and an alcohol awareness card.
• At least 1 year of bartending experience in a high-volume environment preferred.
• Knowledge of beer, wine and spirits and their preparation and presentation.
• Ability to interact with the public in a friendly, enthusiastic manner.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and policy documents; converse with customers.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Cash handling experience with basic math skills.
• Regularly handles water and chemical solutions in sanitation routines.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers and takes accurate orders in a timely fashion.
• Provides information about products and upsells when appropriate.
• Follows recipes and product directions for cocktails and beverages.
• Collects payments and operates cash registers per cash handling policies.
• Ensures proper service times and communicates issues to the manager on duty.
• Adheres to alcohol awareness procedures and handles intoxicated guests appropriately.
• Maintains a clean, sanitized, and well-stocked bar.
• Follows safety, sanitation, and company policies consistently.
• Maintains sanitizer buckets and logs as required.
