The Bartender greets customers, takes orders, mixes drinks according to recipes, handles payments, and maintains a clean bar while delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Must meet state minimum age for serving alcoholic beverages.
• Must obtain a gaming or non-gaming card, food handler safety training card, and an alcohol awareness card.
• At least 1 year of bartending experience in a high-volume environment preferred.
• Knowledge of beer, wine and spirits and their preparation and presentation.
• Ability to interact with the public in a friendly, enthusiastic manner.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and policy documents; converse with customers.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Cash handling experience with basic math skills.
• Regularly handles water and chemical solutions in sanitation routines.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes and product directions for cocktails and beverages.
• Collects payments and operates cash registers per cash handling policies.
• Ensures proper service times and communicates issues to the manager on duty.

• Maintains a clean, sanitized, and well-stocked bar.
• Follows safety, sanitation, and company policies consistently.
• Maintains sanitizer buckets and logs as required.

Position Summary

The Bartender is responsible for greeting customers, taking orders, mixing ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, and sugar to prepare cocktails and other drinks, and serving beer and other beverages. The Bartender will complete transactions, communicate ticket times and potential problems to the manager on duty and the servers as necessary, provide the highest quality of service to customers and associates at all times and perform all other responsibilities as directed by the business or as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Must meet state minimum age for serving alcoholic beverages
• Must be able to obtain a gaming or non-gaming card, food handler safety training card, and an alcohol awareness card
• Requires at least 1 year of closely related bartending experience, work experience in high volume or fast-casual dining restaurant environment preferred
• Requires knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits as well as their preparation and presentation, keeping updated on new and revised beverage recipes
• Demonstrates the ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner
• Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with customers
• Requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
• Must have cash handling experience using basic math skills
• Frequently immerses hands in water and water diluted with chemical solutions

Essential Functions

• Greets customers and take orders in a timely fashion

• Collects payments and operates cash registers for drinks and/or food served following company established cash handling policies and procedures for all transactions; secures all monies at the end of each shift
• Follows alcohol awareness procedures for preventing intoxication and deals with intoxicated guests
• Follows all customer service, adult beverage, and cash handling policies and procedures
• Ensures a clean, sanitized, and well stocked bar
• Adheres to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures
• Maintains sanitizer buckets and sanitizer logs

Physical Requirements

Fast-paced, high-volume environment involving constant public interaction. Must be able to stand or walk for an 8-hour shift. Must be able to stoop, bend and lift up to 30 pounds and must be able to tolerate secondary tobacco smoke.
