Job summary

NextEra Energy Resources is seeking an experienced HV Strike Team Technician I to support planned NERC outages, high-voltage maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and PRC-028 compliance. The role requires strong teamwork, readiness for night/weekend work, and eligible for 40–50% travel to renewables sites across AZ.

The candidate should read DC schematics, interpret wiring diagrams, and coordinate with vendors and site teams to ensure safe, compliant outages and timely turnover packages.

Qualifications

• High School Grad / GED required.
• 4+ years of field operations experience.
• Valid driver’s license (NON-CDL).
• Ability to read DC electrical schematics and diagrams.
• Willingness to travel 40–50%.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine work in construction and maintenance of substation, transmission, and collection system equipment.
• Work with data communication equipment.
• Coordinate emergency response and repair to high voltage equipment.
• Maintain high voltage inventory and vehicles.
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to complete outages safely.
• Document test results, settings, discrepancies, and turnover records.
