Job summary

X4 Engineering in Houston, TX is seeking a Substation Engineering Supervisor to lead multiple 138 kV+ substation design projects. You will oversee engineering teams, manage quality, schedule and budget, and ensure profitable delivery on high-voltage initiatives.

This role offers direct exposure to engineering leadership and a path to influence large-scale grid projects. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, a PE license (or the ability to obtain one), and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one.
Extensive 138 kV+ substation design experience.
Experience leading engineers or project teams on multiple concurrent projects.
Strong knowledge of IEEE, NESC and utility standards.
Commercial awareness including budgets and schedules.

Responsibilities

Supervise multiple engineering project teams delivering 138 kV+ substation projects.
Own teams' quality, schedule and profitability.
Plan resources to maximize team productivity.
Serve as technical leader and mentor for the team.
Stay hands-on reviewing designs and solving technical problems.
Report directly to the VP of Engineering.
