Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one.
• Extensive 138 kV+ substation design experience.
• Experience leading engineers or project teams on multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong knowledge of IEEE, NESC and utility standards.
• Commercial awareness including budgets and schedules.

Substation Engineering Supervisor – High Voltage (138 kV+)

Texas (Houston preferred) | Full-time

We're partnering with a well-established high-voltage substation engineering firm with decades of delivery behind it and the backing of a major national infrastructure group. They're hiring a Substation Engineering Supervisor to lead multiple project teams and report directly to the VP of Engineering. US grid demand is at a historic high, and this role puts you at the front of it, with real authority and big-company backing.

The role

• Supervise several engineering project teams delivering 138 kV+ substation projects at once
• Take full ownership of your teams' quality, schedule and profitability
• Maximize team productivity through strategic resource planning and assignment
• Act as the technical leader and mentor who shapes how the whole team performs
• Stay hands-on with the engineering, reviewing designs and solving technical problems
• Report directly to the VP of Engineering

What you'll bring

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• Professional Engineer (PE) license, or the ability to obtain one
• Extensive substation design experience at 138 kV and above (physical and/or protection & control)
• Proven experience leading engineers or project teams on multiple concurrent projects
• Strong working knowledge of relevant IEEE, NESC and utility standards
• Commercial awareness, including managing project budgets, schedules and margin
