Job summary

JM Test Systems in Uniontown, PA is seeking an Electrical Safety Technician to test, calibrate, and certify high-voltage safety equipment across lab and field settings. You will perform dielectric testing and inspection of gloves, sleeves, and meters, ensuring compliance with ASTM, OSHA, and NETA standards.

The role requires travel with overnight stays, strong attention to detail, and basic computer skills. Safety is priority; extensive PPE and lab setup are part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of electrical safety concepts and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and record-keeping.
• Basic computer skills, including Excel and Word.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in variable conditions.
• Willingness to travel regularly, including overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Test and certify safety equipment to meet safety standards.
• Test, calibrate, and troubleshoot low- and medium-voltage instruments.
• Identify non-conformances and flag items for repair or decommissioning.
• Document testing and inspection records per requirements.
• Operate test benches and voltage sources; assist with setup and teardown.
• Communicate test results to supervisors and customers.
• Follow safety protocols and wear PPE in high-voltage environments.
