Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Hillsboro, Oregon, is seeking a field service professional to support installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of High Voltage equipment across the Western United States.

You will perform hands-on technical field work at live customer sites, ensuring safe operation and reliable power delivery. Strong candidates have HV experience, field testing, and the ability to coordinate with crews and customers.

Qualifications

Work authorization in the United States.
Bachelor's in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred; technical certificate acceptable.
HV substations and equipment field experience, supervising erection and testing or similar.
Experience with field testing, commissioning activities, and reading electrical drawings/schematics.
Knowledge of operating electrical test equipment and standard computer applications.
Ability to communicate effectively and coordinate field activities with crews and customers.

Responsibilities

Perform installation, modification, testing, commissioning, and repair of High Voltage equipment at customer sites.
Execute or supervise installation and commissioning of High Voltage substation equipment.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on High Voltage equipment.
Troubleshoot equipment and resolve operating problems using field investigation and testing.
Conduct electrical field tests including gas analysis and diagnostic testing.
Document service reports, maintain logs and test results.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
