Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to perform high‑voltage tests and commissioning on power systems up to 500 kV. You will apply advanced analysis, write detailed reports, and mentor junior technicians in a fast-paced project environment.

The role requires traveling regionally, maintaining safety standards, and delivering top-quality testing services for critical infrastructure clients.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification current and in good standing.
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Expert knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards.
• Proficient with test equipment such as Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF.
• Strong understanding of protective relay schemes and coordination.
• Ability to read one-line, three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record and willingness to travel up to 75%.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical to microprocessor-based).
• Test insulation, power factor, and contact resistance on transformers, switchgear, cables, breakers.
• Interpret results and draft engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex failures under time-sensitive conditions.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians; lead multi-discipline project teams.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS, NFPA 70E, OSHA.
