Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems is seeking a Digital Systems Engineer who blends Systems Engineering, Architecture, and Project Management to guide requirements, architecture, and system integration across the engineering lifecycle. You will leverage MBSE with SysML, lead multi‑discipline groups, and ensure traceability and robust test artifacts.

Responsibilities include modeling high-speed architectures, managing requirements, and developing parametric lifecycle models to quantify design impacts.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Aerospace/Systems/Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial/Computer Engineering, Physics, or related STEM with 4+ years experience.
• Proven MBSE experience with SysML using Cameo or MagicDraw.
• Hands-on experience with structural allocations and automated docs via scripting (VTL, Python, or MATLAB).
• Experience drafting and decomposing technical requirements (EARS or DOORS).
• Strong communication and leadership; able to lead small technical teams; on-site in SCIF; willing to travel 10–20%; U.S. Citizenship and active TS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead capture of high-speed system architectures in Cameo/ MagicDraw across SysML views.
• Oversee requirements with traceability and test artifact mapping.
• Develop/maintain parametric lifecycle models in Excel/Python/MATLAB for design tradeoffs.
• Lead cross-disciplinary requirements and architecture working groups; manage interfaces and configuration Mgt.
• Perform trade studies and produce briefs evaluating utility, readiness, and lifecycle cost/benefit.
• Create VTL scripts in Cameo to automate contract deliverables and ICDs.
• Provide technical leadership within a matrixed team.
