Job summary

Morris Packaging is a manufacturer of sustainable, flexible packaging products. Morris Packaging is seeking a Technical Operator in Kentucky to set up and run high-speed printing and converting machines on a 12-hour rotating shift, following safety and quality standards.

You will monitor quality, perform changeovers, troubleshoot issues, train new operators, and complete routine paperwork while maintaining Safe Quality Food compliance in a climate-controlled plant.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and 2 years related experience.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
• Knowledge of equipment operation and/or maintenance.
• Ability to train staff.
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues with equipment operation.
• Capable of multi-tasking production.
• Forklift certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Operate high speed press printing, lamination, slitting and converting machines.
• Set-up & run quality products within specifications and without supervision.
• Perform changeovers, load/unload rolls, and adjust machine components.
• Monitor the production line for jams and malfunctions; report issues to supervision.
• Troubleshoot and clear jams; maximize run speed.
• Inspect products for quality and document non-conforming items.
• Package, label, and palletize finished rolls for shipping.
• Assist in training new operators and prepare admin paperwork.
