Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. in Santa Clara, CA is seeking a Senior HSIO Validation Engineer to validate high-speed interfaces across CPU and GPU platforms. You will work closely with PHY, SI/PI, firmware, and platform teams to ensure product quality and readiness for leadership technologies.

The role emphasizes developing automated validation, executing test plans for PCIe Gen5/6/7, CXL, Ethernet, and other interfaces, and driving root-cause analysis of silicon- and system-level issues.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in high-speed IO, silicon validation, system validation, or related areas.
• Experience with high-speed serial interfaces such as PCIe, CXL, Ethernet, UALink, or similar technologies.
• Strong understanding of signal integrity concepts and link-level behavior.
• Strong programming and scripting skills in Python, C/C++ for automation and data analysis.
• Experience with lab bring-up and validation using high-speed measurement equipment.

Responsibilities

• Execute validation plans for high-speed IO interfaces such as PCIe Gen5/Gen6/Gen7, UALink, xGMI, Ethernet.
• Support post-silicon bring-up, characterization, compliance testing, and interoperability validation.
• Collaborate with design, architecture, firmware, board, and test teams to resolve issues.
• Develop and enhance test automation, validation scripts, and data analysis tools.
• Perform electrical- and protocol-level debug using lab equipment.
• Analyze signal integrity, power integrity, and link training to drive corrective actions.
• Document validation findings and communicate status to stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of validation methodologies and BKMs.
