Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing in Minnesota seeks a Special Education Teacher for a high school, serving grades 9–12, for the upcoming academic year. Located near Forest Lake, this contract runs Aug 31, 2026 through June 4, 2027, offering a stable schedule and collaborative team environment.

You will develop IEP-based lessons, implement behavior supports, collaborate with general ed teachers and families, and monitor progress. Onsite Monday–Friday 7:15 AM–3:15 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.

Qualifications

• Requires Minnesota teaching license in EBD, ASD, or ABS.
• Experience supporting at-risk students and customizing learning plans.
• Proven strength in behavior support and intervention.
• Enthusiasm for teaming with fellow educators and related service providers.
• Willingness to work onsite, Monday through Friday (7:15 AM–3:15 PM)
• Capacity to support a high school caseload with compassion and adaptability.
• Out-of-field licensure candidates welcomed with district support.

Responsibilities

• Develop and adapt lesson plans according to IEPs.
• Foster an inclusive, safe, and encouraging classroom environment.
• Implement effective behavior management strategies.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and support staff.
• Monitor, assess, and report on student progress.
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and IEP conferences.
