Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a Special Education Teacher for a contract position at a single high school near Marion, IN. You will support a caseload of 20-25 students in a resource classroom, implementing IEPs and differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs.

The role follows a weekday schedule from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm (35 hours weekly) with collaboration among staff, ongoing progress monitoring, and regular communication with families to promote inclusion and academic growth.

Qualifications

• Valid Indiana SPED license required.
• Previous experience working with high school students preferred.
• Strong collaborative skills and ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, students, and families.
• Knowledge of best practices in differentiated instruction, IEP development, and progress monitoring.
• Commitment to fostering inclusion and academic growth for all learners.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction and support for students in accordance with their IEPs.
• Adapt curriculum and modify instruction to meet diverse needs.
• Monitor student progress and document outcomes. Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with staff to ensure consistent delivery of services.
• Maintain open communication with families regarding student progress and challenges.
• Promote a positive and safe classroom culture.
