Job summary

Leaders In Our Neighborhood Charter School in Bronx, NY, is seeking a High School Special Education Teacher to join our urban setting. You will co-instruct with General Education teachers and develop rigorous, standards-based instruction for students with IEPs.

Responsibilities include using data to drive decisions, designing effective IEPs, and serving as case manager for multiple students. NYS Special Education certification is required or in process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college.
• Master's degree in Special Education or relevant field preferred.
• New York State Certification in Special Education (SD 5-9 or 7-12).
• Experience in an urban school setting is preferred.
• Strong data tracking and ability to communicate and collaborate with families.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high academic standards are set for and met by all students.
• Collaborate with General Education co-teachers to co-instruct and support students with IEPs.
• Prepare students for high-stakes tests, including the Regents.
• Execute rigorous, small-group instruction based on individual needs.
• Differentiate curriculum to meet needs of students with IEPs.
• Use performance data to drive instructional decisions and IEP development.
• Design and implement high-quality IEPs with clear goals and criteria.
• Serve as case manager for at least 2 students receiving special education services.
