Job summary

Shakopee Public Schools seeks a 1.0 FTE Long Term Substitute Special Education teacher for Shakopee High School, starting immediately with end date TBD. The role delivers direct and indirect SpEd services in resource or co-taught settings, monitors IEP goals, and ensures due process and paperwork are managed.

You will communicate with families and staff, develop Behavior Intervention Plans, supervise paraprofessionals, and tailor instruction to each student's abilities while fostering a positive

Qualifications

• Require MN licensure in special education EBD, SLD, ASD or ABS.
• Experience with a variety of disabilities and ability to deliver specialized instruction to meet individual needs; district will provide training for specific needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct and indirect special education services to students in a resource room setting and/or co-taught classroom.
• Monitor progress on IEP goals and objectives; follow due process and IEP procedures and manage paperwork.
• Communicate effectively with families and staff; develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans; supervise paraprofessional(s).
• Provide instruction in content areas in accordance with each student's ability; create a classroom environment that fosters student learning and growth; establish effective working relationships with students and parents, and work collaboratively with staff.

Education
