Archbishop Spalding High School seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support high school students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The teacher adapts curriculum, delivers direct instruction, and ensures students are fully integrated into the academic, spiritual, and social life of the school.

The role emphasizes collaboration with general education staff, development of ILPs, and ongoing progress monitoring, while upholding the school's Catholic mission and commitment

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education required; Master's degree preferred.
• Maryland State Certification in Special Education, or eligibility for certification, preferred.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience teaching students with intellectual and developmental disabilities, preferably at the middle or high school level.
• Experience in a private or Catholic school setting is preferred.

Mansioni

• Adapt general education curriculum, assignments, and assessments to meet students' individual functional and academic needs.
• Support students in general education courses by providing modified curriculum and instructional accommodations.
• Teach specialized small-group classes in functional literacy, practical mathematics, and life skills.
• Provide one-on-one instructional support as needed.
• Assist students with transitioning between classes.
