Job summary

Archbishop Spalding High School in Severn, MD is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to work with high school students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Special Education is required; Master's preferred.
• Maryland State Certification in Special Education or eligibility preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience teaching students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Experience in private or Catholic school setting is preferred.
• Must complete Archdiocesan background checks and child protection training (VIRTUS).

Responsibilities

• Adapt general education curriculum, assignments, and assessments to meet students' needs.
• Provide modified curriculum and accommodations to support students in general education.
• Teach small-group classes in functional literacy, practical mathematics, and life skills.
• Provide one-on-one instructional support as needed.
• Develop, implement, and monitor ILPs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure access to coursework.
