Job summary

Alta Vista Innovation High School is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a full-time role. The position entails delivering personalized instruction within an instructional environment, collaborating with families and staff to implement IEPs, and coordinating with other educators to support student outcomes.

You will conduct assessments, lead IEP meetings, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with California standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Special Education credential with authorization for the assigned level.
• EL Authorization or eligible to obtain EL Authorization.
• Autism Authorization required or eligible to enroll in a approved program.
• Experience with California education standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and implement daily lessons per approved curriculum.
• Conduct pre- and post-testing using standardized tests.
• Write and chair IEP meetings and 30-day reviews.
• Manage student behavior and support academic progress.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff.
• Maintain student records and required documentation.
• Travel to other school sites to provide services as needed.
• Perform administrative duties as assigned.
