Job summary

Bi-County Collaborative in Walpole, MA is seeking a compassionate High School Special Education Teacher for students in grades 9–12 with multiple disabilities in a public day school setting. The role centers on delivering individualized instruction that builds functional academics, communication, life skills, and greater independence.

You will develop IEPs, collaborate with related service providers, use AAC and other supports, supervise paraprofessionals, and document progress while maintaining

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
  • MA teaching license in moderate/severe disabilities.
  • Open to candidates with alternate special ed certs if willing to obtain Severe Disabilities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and classroom management.
  • Ability to handle multiple complex issues.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement IEPs aligned with each student's goals.
  • Deliver instruction in functional academics, daily living skills, communication, and social-emotional learning.
  • Collaborate with related service providers (OT, PT, SLP, Nursing) to support access.
  • Use specialized teaching strategies (visual supports, AAC, sensory integration, task analysis).
  • Foster a positive, structured classroom culture and supervise paraprofessionals.
