Job summary

Marblehead Public High School seeks a Special Education Teacher for grades 9-12 to coordinate and provide services with the chairperson and general education teachers, and deliver direct instruction aligned to student goals.

Candidates must hold a MA DESE license (Moderate Disabilities 9-12 preferred) and be knowledgeable about MA Curriculum Frameworks, with experience in differentiated instruction, IEPs, progress reporting, and parent communication.

Qualifications

• Must hold Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Moderate Disabilities Educator License at the 9-12 level.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and proficient with technology.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Master degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide special education services and supports with the chairperson and general education teachers.
• Provide direct instruction on student goals and objectives.
• Collaborate as part of a team and support IEP writing/implementation, evaluations, and progress reports.
• Engage in co-teaching, student case management, and strong parent communication.
• Fulfill duties assigned by Chairperson, Building Administrators, or Director of Student Services.
