Somerville Public Schools, SOMERVILLE HIGH SCHOOL in Somerville, Massachusetts, is seeking a dedicated Special Education Substitute to support the Special Education Department by delivering continuity of instruction when teachers are absent.

The role involves implementing IEPs and behavior plans within special education classrooms, ensuring a safe, structured environment, and collaborating with staff to meet student needs.

Formación

• DESE License as a Special Education Teacher ( grades 9-12 ) is required.
• Ability to implement IEP accommodations and behavioral plans as outlined.
• Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Responsabilidades

• Foster a safe classroom environment in accordance with school policies.
• Supervise students and ensure health, welfare, and safety.
• Review lesson plans left by absent teachers and implement them accurately.
• Collaborate with special education staff to support IEP goals.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information.
• Support inclusion and non-discriminatory practices.
