Job summary

The role is hourly, with a 183-day work calendar, pay range $17.66 to $26.55 per hour, and requires 48 college credits or equivalent. The position reports to the principal and is part of Fayette County Public Schools.

Qualifications

• Minimum 48 college credit hours or successful completion of Kentucky Paraeducator Assessment or an Associate's Degree.
• Experience working with youth in an organized setting and some instructional experience with children with disabilities.
• Ability to follow teacher instructions and maintain confidentiality of student records.

Responsibilities

• Assist certified teachers in implementing instructional practices and maintaining a safe, inclusive classroom.
• Support students’ independence across educational settings.
• Assist with health-related procedures and maintain appropriate records as required.
• Monitor student progress and report concerns to the teacher.
• Maintain classroom materials, attendance, and records per district policies.
• Communicate professionally with staff and parents as needed.
