Job summary

Uncommon Schools seeks a School Social Worker to provide direct services for the high school community, including crisis intervention, counseling (individual and group), and family engagement. You will identify students needing support and coordinate with external resources while maintaining compliant records.

Qualifications

MSW degree with LMSW or LCSW licensure required.
Valid NYDOE School Social Worker Certification required.
Experience in urban schools preferred.
Belief in Uncommon's educational philosophy and core beliefs.

Responsibilities

Provide direct services including crisis intervention and counseling.
Serve as a Case Manager and member of the Child Study Team.
Plan and develop school-based interventions with educators.
Engage with community agencies and resources.
Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
Attend events outside normal school hours and participate in staff orientation.
