Job summary

Tolleson Union High School District #214 is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to provide screening, diagnostic assessment, therapy, and consultation services in communication disorders for high school students. You will develop IEPs, goals, and reports, work with the CST/IEP teams, and supervise SLPA as needed.

Responsibilities include conducting assessments, direct therapy, data collection, and coordination with educators.

Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate from an ASHA-accredited speech pathology/communication disorders program.
  • DPS Identity Verified Print (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card is required.
  • Experience with high school aged populations.
  • Current Arizona Department of Education Speech and Language Pathology certification.
  • Current Arizona Department of Health Services License.
  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology required.
  • Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) permitted.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts speech-language screenings using standard protocols at CST request or referral.
  • Participates as a CST member when communication issues are suspected.
  • Contributes to IEP team discussions and recommends intervention strategies.
  • Performs comprehensive speech and language assessments to determine impairments and needs.
  • Assists in determining requirements for assistive technology devices/services.
  • Creates evaluation reports, IEPs, progress reports, logs, and related documentation.
  • Monitors IEPs for students eligible for services and documents progress.
  • Provides direct therapy to students identified through evaluation and placement.
  • Provides staff/parent consultation on communication deficits.
  • Supervises SLPA when assigned and in line with ADHS requirements.
  • Submits logs and documentation for Medicaid reimbursement.
  • Schedules activities and maintains data displays and records.
  • Attends departmental meetings and in-service trainings.
  • Maintains coordination between general curriculum and therapy activities.
  • Maintains accurate student files and uses district tech tools.
