Job summary

West Seneca Central School District is seeking a full-time Literacy/Reading teacher for the secondary level on a probationary appointment. The ideal candidate will be certified to teach Literacy/Reading and skilled in targeted reading intervention, data analysis and supporting content-area literacy.

Responsibilities include small-group and individual support, decoding and comprehension strategies, diagnostic testing, progress monitoring, and documentation for MTSS and CSE processes;

Qualifications

• Certified to teach Literacy/Reading at secondary level.
• Experience with targeted reading intervention and MTSS.
• Knowledge of NYS ELA standards and data-driven instruction.

Responsibilities

• Small-Group and Individual Support: pull-out or push-in instruction for HS students.
• Decoding and Comprehension Strategies: phonics, fluency, vocabulary and strategies for adolescents.
• Diagnostic Testing: administer and interpret reading inventories or screeners.
• Progress Monitoring: track student growth to adjust MTSS tiers.
• Compliance & Record-Keeping: maintain logs and participate in CSE meetings; communicate with families.
