Job summary

TrulyHired is seeking a Reading Specialist to support students requiring enhanced literacy instruction in our district. The role emphasizes diagnostic assessment, evidence-based interventions, and progress monitoring aligned with state standards.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in Reading Education, Massachusetts Reading Specialist certification, SEI Endorsement, and may have vocational teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in reading education (preferred).
• Massachusetts Reading Specialist certification (DESE) required.
• SEI Endorsement.
• Vocational teaching experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implement, and track student progress on IEP goals.
• Provides direct reading instruction to students in individual, small group, and/or full classroom settings.
• Collaborates with teachers to identify literacy needs, set learning goals and targets, and problem solve for growth.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the components of balanced literacy.
• Serves as a resource in reading for teachers, administrators and the community.
• Meets and instructs assigned classes as scheduled.
• Creates a conducive learning environment and maintains appropriate student behavior.
• Prepares for classes and shows evidence of preparation on request.
