Job summary

KIPP New Jersey is seeking a Managing Director of School Operations for High Schools to elevate operational excellence at Newark’s two high schools. You will lead DCOs, partner with school leaders, and drive systems that protect instructional time and improve student outcomes.

Knowledge of high school operations, budgeting, safety, and regional collaboration is essential. This role interacts with the MDO and reports to senior operations leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience and results in a school-based operations leadership role
• Direct management experience with a track record of developing leaders and setting high standards
• 5–10 years of work experience, preferably in business or operations management
• K-12 education experience preferred
• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Directly manage the DCOs at two Newark high schools and oversee their ops teams
• Partner with High School Leaders, MDO, and regional teams to align operations
• Standardize and improve high school operational systems across the network
• Drive attendance, enrollment, safety, and facilities excellence to protect instructional time
• Develop playbooks and professional development pathways for school ops staff
