Job summary

RFCUNY is seeking a motivated, student-centric Part-Time Math Tutor for the Liberty Partnerships Program at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn. You will work with high school students at Clara Barton HS and Aspirations Diploma Plus HS, delivering algebra, geometry, and trigonometry tutoring aligned to NYS Regents.

The role emphasizes equity and urban youth mentorship. A high school diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Qualifications

High school diploma/GED required.
Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality individual and small-group math tutoring to students at Clara Barton HS and Aspirations Diploma Plus HS.
Assist students with core high school mathematics, focusing on NYS Regents alignment (Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II/Trigonometry) as well as general homework help.
Facilitate structured preparation sessions for NYS Regents exams, SAT math sections, and final exams.
Create an encouraging, productive, and inclusive learning environment that builds students' confidence and mathematical problem-solving skills.
Document student attendance, log academic milestones, track progress, and submit data reports to the LPP Director and school coordinators.
Maintain professional communication with high school teachers, LPP guidance counselors, and administrative staff to address specific student needs and learning gaps.
Other duties as assigned.
